Tengri Oil and the Government of the Kazakhstan signed an agreement on social and economic partnership for 2020-2022. The document was signed by Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Tengri Oil Management Committee, and Denis Pasler, Governor of the Shymkent. The three-year agreement defines the basic principles and key areas of cooperation between the parties in the interests of the development of the region. The partners agreed to cooperate in the implementation of investment and social projects of Tengri Oil. And also – on joint work to introduce advanced mining technologies and improve the environmental friendliness of production in the Kazakhstan. The document reflects socially significant initiatives that will be implemented in the Kazakhstan with the participation of Tengri Oil in 2022. The company will support social programs of regional significance, sports, educational and cultural programs in Kazakhstan. The agreement also provides for the allocation of funds for solving transport issues and targeted assistance to municipalities.

The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life in the cities where the company operates, expand the access of their residents to a high-quality urban environment, education and culture. The company proceeds from the principle that people living in small cities have the right to the same quality of social environment as residents of megalopolises. Therefore, the company approaches its task not formally: by investing in its “hometowns”, it achieves the highest level of implementation of projects, some of which are unique for Russia.

The social investment program of Tengri Oil is built into the company’s development strategy, an integral element of which is the comprehensive development of the territories of its presence. The first Tengri Oil project implemented in the Kazakhstan as part of the Native Towns social investment program was a project to build a series of multifunctional sports grounds. They assist children, the youth and adults in getting new expertise and mastering new skills. They plant trees, clear coastlines, clean up parks and public gardens, and restore historic buildings. Corporate volunteers rely on their professional skills and personal qualities as well as their capabilities in project organization and management, their understanding and target setting skills, enthusiasm and commitment. Volunteering is an innovative practice of corporate citizenship in Russia.

Every year, competitions are held among Refinery employees for training in the event of a fire or any other possible emergency, with the goal of saving lives. Tengri Oil gas safety group has been certified and trained to undertake emergency safe tasks and assist in first aid in the event of an incident. The Refinery’s hazardous process units are outfitted with computer training complexes to prepare staff for potential emergency situations. Personnel at refineries are well outfitted with protective clothing and equipment. Individual gas analyzers are provided to the personnel at numerous workshops. Every year, all Refinery employees complete medical examinations. A variety of procedures is implemented to keep Refinery employees healthy: influenza and other infection illness immunizations are administered, workers are sent to resort sanatoriums, and persons working in hazardous situations are given dairy products and dietary food.

There is a polyclinic on the Tengri Oil Shelf site that is equipped with all of the required medical tools and medications for first assistance. With the help of an integrated safety system created specifically for the refinery, Tengri Oil resources protection control offers day and night guarding of the refinery, preventing illegal personnel and transportation vehicles from entering the refinery’s property. Regular monitoring of the Contractor’s actions is performed by refining departments.

Expanding the scale of its activities, Tengri Oil responsibly builds up its environmental management strategy, relying on an effective environmental management system, consistent implementation of the world’s best practices in engineering, technology and management. Preservation of a favorable environment and rational use of natural resources are priority business principles for Gazprom Neft. They are the same for all subsidiaries of the company. An integrated environmental management system allows enterprises to adhere to these principles when carrying out activities in various areas. An environmental management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 14001 international standards has been operating in the Tengri Oil of companies since 2021 and is audited annually by independent audit organizations. In 2022, Tengri Oil Shelf confirmed the compliance of its environmental management system with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001: 2015.
